Alton Towers Facilities Block, Staffordshire
Ellis Hillman Partnership were appointed by Sandycroft Construction to design a facilities block, accommodating toilets and showers, as part of the new ‘Stargazing Pods’ project at Alton Towers, which includes 102 pods set within a landscaped green and surrounded by hundreds of newly planted native trees. The walls are clad in rough sawn waney edge timber and the roof covered in red cedar shingles, with a wavy ridge and hip line, to match with the surrounding Crooked Spoon restaurant.
